LPC Meet with Mr Smith Supporters

LPC Living has this week met with Warrington residents to discuss the future of the former Mr Smith’s nightclub in Warrington, Cheshire.

It was announced last month that the building, owned by the Pervaiz Naviede Family Trust, was to be earmarked for demolition following limited commercial interest in letting the building. However, after being approached by a number of local residents LPC agreed to meet them in Warrington to discuss the building in more detail.

Scott Neal, marketing manager, said “We pride ourselves on our commitment to community engagement and fully appreciate the club holds a lot of happy memories for those living in the area. However, sadly, the feedback we’ve had from potential tenants is that the building is too large to operate as a nightclub and the cost to convert to other uses was likely to be prohibitive”.

“While we feel clearing the site would provide us with the opportunity create a truly sustainable development for the people of Warrington we clarified that the demolition process was unlikely to start for several months. This ultimately provided the group with a small window of opportunity to look into the possibility for a community-backed project, providing it is commercially viable.”

A follow up meeting between LPC Living and the supporters group is to be arranged.
