Greenlight for Hackney Homes Welcomed by LPC Living

Plans to create thousands of new homes in the London Borough of Hackney have been welcomed by LPC Living who are currently on-site with a £20m mixed-use development.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson has today approved plans to regenerate the Woodberry Downs housing estate in Hackney which would see more than 3,000 new homes being constructed as well as commercial floor space. More than 800 homes have already been built to date with 180 currently under construction.

Simon Ashdown, development director at LPC Living, which is owned by the Pervaiz Naviede Family Trust, said “We welcome this multi-million pound investment in Hackney which will deliver a wide range of affordable homes.”

The site is located two miles north west of LPC’s own development on Amhurst Road next to Hackney Central station. The mixed-use scheme, comprising a hotel, over 20,000 sq ft of retail space and 50 apartments is presently under construction and has been estimated to create around 200 job opportunities for the community.
